The Global Summit of Women President shares her Networking Power with WomenBizPH

In today’s connected society, we are defined by what we say, what we do, and what we know. As in the real world, social capital is now the measure of one’s standing in the community whether in business, in social circles, or in the digital world. Building and nurturing a network is one of the most powerful tools you must acquire  to support your career and  advance  toward your goals.

Last December 15, 2016,  WomenBizPh was graced by the presence of Irene Natividad, President of the Global Summit of Women, when she shared her insights and experience on how to be an effective leader through networking and how to bring value to the people you connect with and create opportunities for your professional and personal growth. She  emphasized that networking is critical especially nowadays where it must be supported and enabled by technology. Networking is very much valuable inside and outside your circle and should also extend to your personal network. It is equally important to know deeper what your close contacts do because that’s also where we could connect the dots to link to or even create a new circle. Irene also emphasized that your network must be kept warm where conversations should flow naturally and amicably.

In forums and other similar events, Irene also encourages her audience to always take the front seat where it’s more strategic to ask questions or even meet the presenter – this way you will be able to maximize what you invested for the event. Networking should also be practiced often due to the changing times, and people. When engaging organizations, do not just join but LEAD and always find opportunities to speak.

These are just a few (of the many) pointers Irene shared with us that morning. At the end of her talk, Irene invited all women business leaders to join and network with other global women leaders at the upcoming Global Summit of Women on May 11-13, 2017 to be held in Tokyo, Japan.
