WomenbizPH ready for ASEAN Philippines 2026

The gathering underscored WomenbizPH’s role as the lead women’s organization for women-led activities and interventions for the ASEAN Chairship Philippines 2026, reinforcing a shared commitment to inclusive growth and women’s economic empowerment across the region.
A highlight of the event was the participation of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Philippines, led by George Barcelon, whose presence affirmed strong public–private collaboration in advancing the country’s ASEAN agenda. Consul Nina Mangio (PCCI) , Sergio Ortiz ( ECOP / PhilExport) , Lorna Bondoc (International Trade Centre), Nharleen Millar    ( Philippine Commission on Women ) were among the attendees. Discussions centered on aligning business leadership, women-led enterprises including C Suite women professionals and regional cooperation to ensure that women’s economic participation remains a central pillar of ASEAN Philippines 2026.
WomenbizPH Chairperson Rosemarie Rafael outlined the council’s flagship initiatives, including plans for the ASEAN Amazing Weaves and Waves Exhibition—a platform designed to celebrate Southeast Asia’s creative industries, cultural heritage, and innovation, with a particular focus on women artisans, entrepreneurs, and communities across ASEAN.
Building on this momentum, WomenbizPH President Rhoda Castro Caliwara and Vice President Rosemarie Bosch Ong presented the roadmap for the ASEAN Women Economic Summit (AWES) Philippines 2026. The summit aims to convene policymakers, business leaders, investors, and women entrepreneurs from across the region to advance policy dialogue, unlock financing, and foster partnerships that accelerate women’s participation in trade, innovation, and sustainable development.
During the program, WomenbizPH Board Secretary Mylene Abiva formally acknowledged the organization’s alliance members, recognizing their continued collaboration under a Memorandum of Agreement with WomenbizPH to support women’s economic empowerment.
She emphasized that these alliances are vital to translating commitments into concrete programs and measurable outcomes in the lead-up to 2026.
The Christmas Lunch served not only as a celebration of partnership but also as a strategic convening—affirming WomenbizPH’s leadership and readiness to deliver impactful, women-centered initiatives as the Philippines prepares to chair ASEAN in 2026. Through exhibitions, summits, and cross-sector collaboration, WomenbizPH and its partners are setting the stage for a more inclusive and resilient ASEAN economy led by women.
