DBP and WomenBizPH Launch ILAW Loan Program

The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) recently launched a special loan forwomen entrepreneurs dubbed ILAW (light) to mean Inclusive Lending for Aspiring Women Entrepreneurs. The loan product was conceived with the assistance of Women’s Business Council of the Philippines (Womenbizph) and a MOA was signed between the two groups to promote this access to finance to women in business. Sole proprietorships, partnerships and corporations which are women-led are qualified to borrow.

The loan can be from as low as P300,000 to P10Million and more for SMEs and has flexible collateral requirements. Recently, the program garnered an award of merit for DBP from the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (DFIAP) in ceremonies held in Vietnam last May 2015 .
