WomenbizPH Bayanihan CARES Financial Program webinar for Women Rise Research Study Respondents

When the lockdown started in March 2020, economic activity was at a standstill especially during the first few months of the community quarantine. Both MSMEs and large enterprises were affected, but given the existing challenges to MSMEs such as lack of access to finances for working capital, small businesses are less likely to bounce back and recover from the impact of the lockdown. They are less likely to stay afloat because they cannot access emergency finances to pay for their workers and continue operations. Small businesses, unlike large businesses also do not have extensive marketing and logistics to be able to adjust their strategies during the pandemic.

Women Rise is a study on the needs of Filipino women entrepreneurs today. Women Rise will take a close look at sunrise industries, and the factors for their success, and challenges to progress, such as the use of financial technology; and the impact of national and local business environments
