WomenbizPH”Kasuotan at Kalinangan” Showcases Rich Heritage and Craftsmanship
Pasig City, September 1, 2023 – The Women’s Business Council Philippines, a premier organization promoting women entrepreneurs, hosted a spectacular Gala Dinner, “Kasuotan at Kalinangan,” last September 1, 2023, at The Podium Hall, Top of Podium, Pasig City.
The event brought together influential figures, artisans, fashion enthusiasts, and supporters of Filipino craftsmanship to celebrate the rich tapestry of traditional Filipino weaves and wear. The Gala Dinner aimed to spotlight the cultural significance and artistic excellence found in the intricacies of Filipino artisanal fabrics.
The evening featured a mesmerizing fashion showcase, highlighting traditional and contemporary Filipino garments crafted from locally woven textiles . Dazzling collections from esteemed designers namely : Frankie de Leon, Frederick Berches and Delby Bragais underscored the fusion of heritage and modern fashion, emphasizing the diverse beauty and craftsmanship of Filipino attire. The first and only Filipino theme park Enchanted Kingdom presented musical numbers during the event.
A curated exhibition of handcrafted textiles and weaves displayed the meticulous skill and dedication of Filipino artisans, shedding light on the importance of preserving these age-old traditions and supporting the livelihoods of local weavers.
